Cooking is fun. Watching cooking shows is entertaining. But to actually execute what you’re seeing on the television? That’s a different story. Now there are a lot of good cooks out there, but not everyone has the hand for it. Especially for those constantly on the go.

But can you still make delicious meals with limited time and skills? Yes! Get a slow cooker! There are many crock pot videos out there to follow. Here is Rachel Farnsworth of The Stay at Home Chef showing how to cook delicious fall off the bone ribs in just a few minutes.

Let’s get cooking!

1.) First, remove the membrane. It’s on the back of the ribs so just slide your fingers around to the side. It will loosen up and from there, just rip it right off. That part is tough and will be chewy. Not the good kind of chewy.

2.) Grab a small bowl and throw in all those dry rub ingredients. Stir them well then just rub them over the ribs making sure to coat all parts of the meat. This step is actually optional. It certainly adds flavor though. You can use a store bought barbecue sauce or one you made yourself. Just make sure you save some for after cooking.

3.) You don’t want the insides of your crock pot to be coated with the sauce so use a slow cooker liner and save yourself a lot of clean up time. They are available at your local grocery store. Now put those ribs in one at a time.

4.) Pour a little barbecue sauce over the top of each rack. No additional liquids involved. It’s all meat juices here and that will be enough. Rachel likes to put a little more sauce on the top racks.

5.) Lid on! Let the slow cooker do all the work from here. Cook the ribs on LOW for 8-10 hours. Which means you can go off and do your thing!

6.) Once finished, carefully lift them out of the slow cooker and on to a baking pan. They will be very tender, ready to fall off the bone so be gentle. Rachel’s tip is to line the pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanups!

7.) Spread more barbecue sauce on top. The goal here is to caramelize the sauce on top once popped under a broiler. This only takes a few minutes and once they’re done, dive right in!

Can you grill them? Absolutely!

Instead of popping them in to an oven broiler, go for the grill and let the sauce on top caramelize with that added smokey flavor. That should take about 3-5 minutes. Mouth watering ribs just for you!
