The holidays are approaching fast, and if you’re someone who likes to get a little creative, have I got the idea for you: Pineapple Christmas trees.
It sounds crazy at first, but once you get used to the idea, you’ll see that there’s so much fun to be had with this.
A twist to sweeten the holidays.
The traditional Christmas decorations will never go out of style, but it can be fun to add in some new décor too.
Who doesn’t love sparkling lights and red and green all over the place? You can certainly keep those classic touches in your home this holiday season.
But if you’re really looking for something fun and new, consider turning your Christmas tree into a pineapple.
It’s easy to do, and it will bring some tropical cheer to your cold December.
Pineapples and Christmas. A perfect pair.
According to Chestnut Hill Farms:
“In the 19th century, the pineapple became a common centerpiece once more, this time during holiday celebrations. A seasonal display of apples, pinecones, holly, and fir leaves created a base, with the pineapple as a crowning star in the center. Now more readily available, the fruit was often enjoyed candied or in baked goods, while its juice frequently sweetened up the holiday punch.”
Given that history, pineapple trees are proven to be on theme and fun!

Really, just use a pineapple as a model and you should be good to go. First, get a decorative rope or ribbon that is big enough to wrap around your tree a few times.
Then, you just wrap the rope around your tree in a criss-cross pattern, trying to create small diamond shapes over the tree.
It should resemble the skin of the pineapple. If it helps, you can tie knots at the places that the rope overlaps to secure it and make it look nicer. Or, you could use fishnet.
Leave some space at the top.

Pineapples have a fun leafy top.
So, you should want your tree to resemble that too. You can get plastic fern leaves at stores or online.
Once you have those on deck, just secure the leaves at the top of the tree, instead of a star or an angel.

Instead, they suggest just buying pineapples to put your presents under. Yes, really.
Their version of the pineapple tree is literally just a pineapple decorated with lights and ornaments.
