Man fills Ziploc bags with concrete and arranges them for brilliant garden path
This turned out really beautiful. I can't wait to try it. I'm going to use white cement with colored oxide powder to give it a more natural touch.

First things first, you’re going to need these materials:

  • Concrete mix
  • Water
  • Ziploc baggies
  • Glow in the dark stones(optional)

Step one, mix your concrete

The first step is pretty simple, you just need to add some of the water to a large bowl, before filling the bowl with concrete mix and adding more water.

Make sure to pour some of the water into the bowl first, or you’ll end up with a sticky mess.

Step two, fill bags with mixed cement

Once you’ve got your concrete to the right consistency(see video at the bottom of the page for consistency), fill the Ziploc bags with the mixture no more than three quarters.

Now that you’ve got your baggies filled, you’re ready to move on to the next step.

Step three, lay your cement bags.

The Ziploc bags are great for this because they naturally make the cement blocks perfectly square!

When laying the bags in the desired location, you’ll want to fold the zipper part under the bag and begin slowly shaking the bag before smoothing it out.

This technique will help make sure the concrete will expand.

Once you’ve got them all laid and smooth, you can move on to the final stages.

Step four, cut and decorate.

Once you’ve got the Ziploc bags filled with cement and placed in the desired location, you can start tearing the plastic completely off of the square cement stones.

Don’t worry if they look a little wet, that’s how they’re supposed to look.

After you have the plastic off, take your glow-in-the-dark stones and place them on a few of the cement stones at the entryway of the new cobblestone path.

Step five, fill in the cracks.

After you’ve completed all of the other steps, you may notice that there are really big cracks in between the stones, but don’t worry, we’re going to fill them.

You’ll need sand and a broom.

Note that plain old dirt can be used, too. Take the sand, piling it neatly where the cracks are before using the broom to sweep it evenly into the cracks.

Once you’ve followed those five simple steps, you’ll have an amazing, rustic-looking cobblestone path that adds a wonderful addition to your back patio or another area you’ve laid it in.

Quick, simple, and stunning.
