Ire Heart Crafting shared her tutorial on how to create a handbag using old jeans. Here are the materials you need:
- 1 old jeans
- scissors
- sewing machine
- circular plate
- marker
- needles
- iron
- fusible fleece
The first step is to cut the bottom of the jeans and open it.
The second step is to place the circular plate above the jeans and trace it on the jeans.
The third step is to cut the circular shape and attach the pocket on top as a design.
Then you will sew the design on to the circular shape of the fabric and press it using an iron
Fourth step, using a white cloth or fusible fleece to create another circular shape and sew it into the denim cloth.
Once you are done sewing the white fabric as the inner layer of the bag, flip it to reveal the denim cloth.
The fifth step, using the remaining cloth from the jeans, you will create the strap of the bag.
Create the strap of the bag by drawing a rectangle.
Once you are able to create the strap, you are now to create the base.
Draw a rectangle that is about 2 inches x 24 inches on the denim jeans and the fusible fleece. Sew them again like the design of the bag. Clip it at the edge of the bag and start sewing the edges to create a base.
You finally have your DIY handbag!
