We ALL are looking for ways to save more money. Whether it’s cutting down some unneeded subscriptions each month or some awesome kitchen hacks, creativity and saving go hand in hand. One of the easiest ways to save actually starts right at the source – the grocery store! We snagged a few tips from The Deal Guy on the 10 items that you need to start buying from Aldi’s (a discount supermarket chain from Germany).

Paper products

In the midst of a global pandemic, the scarcest resource wasn’t food or water, it was toilet paper (we still don’t know why)! Thank goodness that’s over. Aldi offers toilet paper, paper products, and paper towels that are their own quality brand.

Baking goods

I don’t have to try and sell you on this one. Just let me tell you the prices. A 5-pound bag of flour? $1.15. Do you know how much bread, cookies, and brownies you can make? The quality is typically better than you will be getting at Walmart, too!

Coming off the heels of flour, bread seems kind of funny to talk about. If we are honest though, baking our own bread is a bit of a hassle. At Aldi, they sell loaves of wheat and white bread for under 80 cents. You literally can’t beat the price.

Spices

Whether you want your regular, keep-in-stock-at-home spices or you are looking for fresh blends, seasonings, and concoctions, Aldi has it all. Their spices are cheaper than your average store AND according to The Deal Guy, genuinely taste better.

Humidifiers

We aren’t just talking about food today! Some of the non-food options that Aldi carries are nothing to shake a stick at. Their humidifier, for example, is only $24.99 and was tested regularly by The Deal Guy. It’s a good product when compared to other brands.

Milk

Despite prices increasing from last year, it’s still cheaper than most other supermarkets like Walmart. The world must be drinking more milk these days as prices across the board have gone up.

If you need a quick side dish to toss in the oven before dinner is ready, Aldi is the place to get it. If you are at all familiar with the quality and selections at Trader Joe’s, you won’t be disappointed here because they come from the same place!

Chocolate desserts

With Easter right around the corner, chocolate is in high demand. They are intentional in providing quality chocolate at bargain prices (everyone knows about the rivalry between European and American chocolate). Check out their chocolate shelves before the Bunnies get to them in a few weeks!

Beer!

Is there any word that can make someone as happy as beer? There are precious few. With the company being based in Germany, it makes sense that their beer selection would be top notch. For the pricing you get with their beer, you will be shocked at how good it is.

Produce

Historically, The Deal Guy has recommended that you stay away form the fresh produce at Aldi. Their frozen stuff is fair game, but he wasn’t impressed with their fresh offerings. This year, however, something changed. The fresh fruit and veggie department received a lot of internal attention when management noticed people were only buying non-perishables.
