If you’ve ever dreamed of living in a castle – you just missed your chance. A lucky buyer swooped up this gorgeous piece of history for around $687,000.

Molly’s Lodge was built in 1834 by Edward Blore, who also oversaw the completion of Buckingham Palace’s 1850 expansion. Although it’s very ‘castle-like,’ it’s actually just a one-bedroom estate with lots of regal charm.

The exterior of the home, which is located in the Cotswolds area of the UK, features a crenelated top which is very typical of many castles. So, of course, as soon as it went up for sale, people fell completely head over heels.

“I think people saw it and thought, ‘It looks like a castle, therefore it must be one,’ ” real estate company Savills’ head of PR, Jamie Jago, told The NY Post. “It certainly looks like one.”

At just 782-square-feet, the home boasts a living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom. As well as expansive gardens and a pond.

The property also included ‘Molly’s Mews,’ which is a second building in the rear of the ‘castle,’ with a one-bedroom apartment, office, and garage.

The interior of Molly’s Lodge is charming, clean, and simple.

The spacious living room features stark white walls, beautiful wood floors, and a giant Victorian cast-iron fireplace that commands your attention when you walk into the room. A comfy armchair sits underneath a romantic bay window.

The large kitchen is all white with a pop of bright red color with the tile backsplash.

Even though the estate was built in 1834, the kitchen has been fully updated with modern appliances and amenities. The new owners can prep and cook gourmet meals on granite countertops, a flat-top electric stove, and large oven.

To access the second floor, you’ll need to climb up the decorative spiral staircase.

Not only is the staircase impressive and eye-catching, but the castle-home also has its original door from 1834.

The sole bedroom in Molly’s Lodge is warm, welcoming, and full of natural light.

The spacious bedroom has plenty of floor space for a king-size bed, two dressers, a vanity, as well as a reading chair. Two windows with twin-doors have uniquely designed frames, and the dark wood beams are a beautiful contrast to the white walls. There is also a large closet for storage.

Walk down the driveway to reach Molly’s Mew, an adorable guest house, and garage on the property.

“Molly’s Lodge is certainly a unique Grade II listed home and there really isn’t much else like it in the area. The Cotswolds has a real breadth of architectural styles with everything from pretty thatched cottages through to grand manor houses and rectories, but this Gate Lodge offers something completely different. Interest so far has come from local buyers who are looking to downsize, as well as those from further afield who are seeking a bolthole in the Cotswolds countryside,” Iain Powis, the Savills Banbury broker representing Molly’s Lodge, says.

The one-bedroom apartment sits directly above the two-car garage.

All neutral colors make this loft-like space feel extremely spacious. Guests have their own little piece of privacy when they stay at Molly’s Mew.

Don’t forget the apartment’s living room and kitchenette.

Guests can be completely self-sufficient in this adorable apartment with vaulted ceilings. It would be hard to leave!

Whoever the new owners are, we have one word – jealous.
