We wrote about refurbishing furniture before, and it is a great way to cut down costs in achieving your dream home. There are many thrift stores where you can find old furniture that needs a bit of TLC to look new again.

Even the decors in your homes can come cheap but pretty, too.

Set aside those thoughts that sprucing up your home would need a huge budget. Remember, there are always thrift stores and dollar stores.

What you need, however, is creativity!

You can always rummage through some old stuff at home and upcycle and repurpose them. If you have some craft tools and other art materials, you can already make something beautiful and stylish.

Like this mom who made an ordinary basket in the dollar store look amazing!

She bought this plastic basket from the dollar store. The basket looked too plain and boring and tended to become an eyesore in the room.

But this Momma knows how to make it look pretty, thanks to her simple DIY.

For this, you only need a basket, an old fitted sheet, a pair of scissors, a glue gun, and some ribbon or twine for decors. We bet you have these materials in your home. See how cost-effective this DIY is?

First, you cut the elastic part of your sheet.

Cover the basket with the sheet. You can use the elastic to ensure that the sheet stays in place.

Cut off the excess cloth from inside the basket.

Secure it by putting on hot glue at the edge of the cloth and sticking it on the basket.

Then, cut a small round piece from the sheet.

You can trace the shape of the basket’s bottom part with a bit of allowance (probably 2-3 inches bigger). Again, use hot glue to cover the bottom surface of the basket.

Remove the elastic from the basket, and you now have a stylish container.

You can add decors by gluing some ribbons or twine around the basket. You can also use other decors like lace or sequins, depending on your style and how they would fit the overall look of your home.

You now have a beautiful storage for your towels and other household items!
