Halloween has not even happened yet, but stores are already stocking their aisles with Christmas decor. It is never too early to get holiday ready. As Kathryn states, it will be the first and second weeks of November when all the really great Christmas decor will already be missing from the shelves. That includes dollar stores.

Kathryn wants everyone to have the best decorated house for the holidays, but also the most affordable. So, she delves into the greatest Dollar Tree items to create DIY Christmas decor.

The first finds, that will not be a DIY project, are the Dollar Tree ornaments.

Dollar Tree has a great and eclectic range of Christmas ornaments. There are rustic ornaments, woodland creatures, retro ornaments, and adorable snowmen to only name a few. My personal favorite are the sparkly and white snowflake ornaments. Dollar Tree has such a wide selection that there will be an ornament for every person’s specific taste.

Last year Dollar Tree produced ornaments that were little elf legs and they flew off the shelves. This popular ornament is back, so make sure to grab your own before they are gone!

The first project that Kathryn starts is a DIY wreath. Dollar Tree has beautiful red and silver vines that can be found in the floral section. These vines have a mix of fake berries, evergreen sprigs, and some are dusted with fake snow. They are beautiful and perfect to make a wreath with. Just do not forget to grab the silver or gold wreath forms, floral tape, and wire garlands that Dollar Tree has to help create your wreath.

There is no cutting or gluing necessary with this DIY project! It is a great and easy project for DIY beginners that have been too nervous to start.

The second DIY project is led by Kathryn’s seven year old son Carson. Kathryn does not want to create DIY projects that look great by professionals but cannot be done by everyday people. This Christmas project can be completed with your kids! All you need are the Dollar Tree tiny snowflakes, the owl ornament, and a small shadowbox. You will need a hot glue gun too!

Glue the owl into the center of the shadowbox. Then you will glue the snowflakes on the shadowbox, where ever you prefer. Voilà!

Another project Kathryn advises to create from Dollar Tree decor is your own Christmas table scape. Between the floral decor and tier trays you can create your own personalized table scape for the holidays. She does not give a definite list of what to purchase and how to create it because a Christmas table scape is personal to every family’s taste.

Get creative!

A great piece of advice is to purchase the dollar wood signs. If you like how they are decorated, perfect! If you don’t, you can decorate the sign on the back to your own liking. The wood piece will already have been cut for you and you can create your own wood sign decor.

Do you receive Christmas cards from family and friends but have nowhere to display them?

All you need is a tartan ribbon and a weighted ornament from Dollar Tree, she uses a sparkly snowflake. Glue the ornament to the bottom of your ribbon. Hang the ribbon over any door in the house and use flat tacks at the top to keep it in place. You then will be able to clip your Christmas cards all over the ribbon and showcase them as a decoration in your house.
