Walt Disney mastered children’s entertainment, bringing us modern classics that defined our childhoods. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t look back to the movies with nostalgia; the memories bringing back feelings of simpler times.
Now, Disney superfans are getting the opportunity to live in the house of their dreams.
Most recently, a Disney-themed estate was put on the market by Dave Settgast with Treasure Coast Sotheby’s International Realty. The 5-bedroom-6-bathroom Disney home features an overwhelming amount of Disney decor and memorabilia— and fans are going nuts!
Located an hour away from Orlando’s Walt Disney World, the home sits on an 8-acre lot boasting a host of amazing features: a front yard, mouse-shaped swimming pool; a backyard, mouse-shaped hot tub; and an exotic stone grotto— but it’s the little Disney add-ons that take it to another level.
Every room in the home pays homage to Disney’s beloved characters, featuring touches like full-wall murals, small character paintings, and a mouse-shaped mirror in the bathroom.
To get onto the property, you must first pass a gate featuring Mickey Mouse.
Then, you go through a stained-glass image of Mickey and Minnie on the home’s front door.
From there, the entryway depicts more Disney imagery, with Cinderella and Snow White immortalized as murals on the walls.
Painted alongside the kitchen, Donald Duck carries a pot of yummy food.
As mentioned, the bathroom maintains simplicity, showcasing only a mirror in Mickey Mouse form.
The home’s bedrooms also feature various nods to Disney characters— like this one, with a mural depicting Tigger, ready to play a baseball game.
The home succeeds in combining childhood fun and adult elegance in an amazing way. But we’re just getting started— you haven’t even seen the outside yet!
Featuring stone accents, water slides, waterfalls, a tiki hut and more, this house boasts its very own Disney-themed waterpark.
A walking bridge connects the home to its gorgeous, resort-style pool area.
According to an older Spaces Online article (obtained via web archives), the house was purchased by Johna and Tim Blair in 2002. Since then, the couple transformed it into the Disney palace that you see today. Johna had always loved Disney; however, as she grew older and learned the history behind Walt Disney’s life and vision, her adoration grew stronger.
After purchasing the property, the Blairs renovated the abandoned estate, with Johna’s mother Delores Dawson commissioning many of the custom-made pieces you see displayed throughout the home. The backyard, “jungle” pool area was actually inspired by the Swiss Family Robinson, and the authors note, at one point, a Dumbo figure in the pool would shoot water out of its trunk.
As of this moment, it seems the house has been sold. Its listing on the Sotheby International Realty website has recently been removed.
