However, some of these ideas can get expensive when they require purchasing lots of materials.

One way to keep the creativity flowing without breaking the bank is to use old items from around the house that you no longer need, or take a trip down to the dollar store to buy a few things on the cheap.

If this sounds like something that you’d enjoy, then Hometalk’s a great place to turn.

They’ve got countless fun and creative ideas that will get the creative side of your brain working.

In one of their YouTube videos, Hometalk shows you how to make some awesome decorations using old bakeware. Or you can grab some cheaply at the dollar store!

One of these creations is a DIY lazy Susan.

It’s so simple, that it takes just minutes to make.

All you need is a metal pie dish, some marbles, and a metal plate.

Just take the pie dish and set it on the table.

Then, fill it up with marbles and set the plate on top.

Put whatever you’d like on the plate and then spin it around in circles.

This simple idea will keep guests from having to reach over each other when sharing a meal at the table.

If you want to try out an idea that requires a bit more work and time, try making a chalkboard message tray.

All you need is an old baking tray and some chalkboard paint.

Start by taping the edges of the tray so that they won’t get paint on them.

Then apply your paint to the surface of the tray.

Be sure to check the directions to see how long you’ll need the paint to dry before it is ready.

In the video, the paint that they use requires at least 3 days of dry time.

Next, cover the entire surface of the tray in chalk.

This primes the chalkboard and allows you to erase things after writing them on the surface.

Once, you’ve chalked the entire surface, erase everything, being sure to rub the entire tray.

Now your chalkboard is ready for use.

And since the cookie sheet is made of metal, you can stick magnets on it as well. Cute, right?

Do you love to decorate your garden?

Well, there’s a clever bakeware idea for that as well.

Just take some tartlet cups, some spraint paint, dollar store rocks, glue, and some metal skewers.

First, spray paint the tartlet cups white (or whatever color you’d like).

Then glue a dollar-store rock into the center of them.

Next, grab your skewer and glue it to the back of the cup, making sure to leave the pointed end sticking down.

Let the entire thing dry and then head out to your garden to stick them into the soil.

They will look great and be super fun to make.
