Some people are opting to enjoy life rather than spend long hours working away from their loved ones just so they can afford things they don’t really need.
Lots of these people are opting to live off the grid in tiny houses.
But sometimes this involves refurbishing mobile spaces, spending thousands on renovations, and putting in countless hours to make those renovations.
Many people are totally unprepared for what they encounter when they embark on their minimalist journies.
That’s why companies are creating prefabricated mobile units to take all the uncertainty out of tiny home living.
DROP Structures is offering a tiny prefabricated unit that can be placed just about anywhere in the U.S. without a permit for about $25,000, according to My Modern Met.
The unit is 106-square-feet, including a 4-foot covered deck, and called Mono and is as cute as a button.
“The Mono is our foundation – the culmination of years of engineering and design resulting in a building rigorously refined and deceptively simple,” DROP Structures’ website reads. “We designed the Mono to optimize livable space throughout, with a long, linear floor plan, a vaulted ceiling, and massive glazed openings.”
These tiny homes feature a sleek look with a long floor plan, vaulted ceilings, and double-paned windows.
The base model starts at $24,500 and has a glass door and transom and one window.
There are six LED pot lights, four receptacles, and one exterior plug-in. The metal exterior is available in multiple colors and is hail resistant.
Units also include a solid core insulation, steel skid system, Baltic birch interior finish, vinyl flooring, a douglas fir wood deck, and electric heat.
But you can spend up to $32,700 if you choose to upgrade your unit, Design Boom reports.
This can include other interior finishes, flooring, deck material, glass walls, more windows, skylights, a built-in loft, Murphy beds, custom blinds, heating and air conditioning, cabinetry, and solar packages.
“Every detail has been meticulously planned, every material thoughtfully sourced, with the goal of finding the pinnacle where aesthetics and function meet,” DROP Structures states. “With the ability to seamlessly incorporate; desks, various wall, and floor textures, and a plethora of other features with ease. The Mono’s ability to transcend a single use function is limited only by your imagination.”
The size of the structure allows you to place it in most places in the U.S. without needing a permit.
DROP Structures will even deliver it to you whether you choose at an extra cost.
“The Mono can go in a backyard as an exercise room, an office, a playroom, or a guest room,” the company said. “It can go to the country for glamping, or act as extra space at a family cottage.”
