You can build your own house on a very tight budget. It will only cost you a lot of time and a lot of dedication. The rewards once you’re done though is a sense of pride and fulfillment.
This man built one and it really is impressive considering all the time and effort he’s put into this project.
It took a lot of wood, a lot of nails, and a lot of arm power to finish and he uses pallets!
Sort of like Lego that he just needs to make do with a few available parts.
Of course if your buddies are willing to help then let them. Extra hands are always welcome!
He measures and cuts wood, laying them out where he needs them to be, before putting up the structure for the walls and eventually hammering other pieces of wood into place.
It’s a video for those with busy hands. Even this viewer was impressed saying,
“This came up in my feed. I watched throw away wood become a cabin . I love the details The way you used the wood to make tiles to direct the water downward . I have to admit the rocks confused me at first ,then it became a foundation for the fireplace/stove . The stuffing of the wall with hay , great idea. The simple bed/sofa, table and corner stool where brilliant. Great job using what you found or had.”
And in the snow too!
This project requires a lot of patience. Just watch how he carefully measures each piece, including the roof’s main beams.
All those pieces need to align perfectly for the house to work.
Steve Ferrick left this comment after watching the build.
“Great job! I love your build i’ve built a smaller shed with pallets and discarded wood, but yours if so much better. As for your Video skills, they are excellent! i like the building sounds, some music, and love the B-roll footage! And i’m glad you condensed the time, keeping it flowing, nice pacing. I watched the entire video and wanted more!”
Everything is done by hand. He puts up the walls, roof, and brick walls using what nature provides.
That hammer axe sure came in handy. From pounding nails and cutting strips of wood, he creates another layer for the walls, stuffing them for that extra layer of warmth.
Looks really cold out there.
He then makes a small table and corner seat including what looks to be a foundation for a bed. Doesn’t look too bad for a few nights out in the wilderness!
There are hinges for the door, windows work, and once he’s done, he brings out ingredients and starts cooking.
Lamps hang by the door and the walls are lit by candlelight. This man doesn’t just build houses, he cooks too!
From a charming hidden home in the woods to a romantic adventure getaway, it’s not too bad for a house built from scratch.
Watch how he turns pallets into a small cabin in the video below!
