At 71, Vicki Champagne had just retired from a life of working on the field.
Though she was retired from her job, she still had the work of caring for her 6 and 9-year-old great-granddaughters.
Between working in the field and taking care of children, Vicki never really did much with her hair.
“I’ve worn it long and up on top of my head in a pony tail or clip for so long because I haven’t had to be anywhere. I worked outside in the field,” she said in her makeover video. “I retired and turned 71.”
“And I have two great gradnaguhters that live at my home. They are 9 and 6, and boy they give me a run for my money!”
That being said Vicki’s family agreed that she deserved some pampering.
So, they all pitched in to treat her to a new look from The Makeover Guy himself, Christopher Hopkins.
Hopkins is a salon owner, makeover guru, performer, social media star, author, and entrepreneur.
He’s especially known for his drastic makeover videos on YouTube and doing drastic transformations on shows like Oprah in the 90s.
So, Vicki was super excited to be in the hands of The Makeover Guy and was about to give him full reign over her new look.
“I told my husband that I didn’t care if I came out of here with a bag on my head because I’m going to have the best experience. It’s just hair,” Vicki said.
But she shouldn’t have spoken too soon because they jokingly put a paper bag over her head.
“Well, I think you did a crappy job,” she told the camera with a bag over her head. “Now I have to wear this bag home. Good thing I brought a driver!”
But bag or no bag, Vicki was determined.
“I’m going to have the best experience today,” she said.
And she did, especially when it was time to see her new look.
“Oh my God, it is beautiful,” she exclaimed.
Vicki went from having long blonde and grey hair tied in a top knot.
Her new look was an adorable angled bob that started above her shoulders and got shorter in the back, which was layered for depth.
Her color was brightened to a lovely blonde and she was given some wispy bangs.
Vicki also was in love with her makeup job. She wasn’t wearing any at all before her makeover.
“My lips, they’ve been gone for a long time,” she said excitedly. “Holy cow! I love the hair. I just love it. I could do this. I could do it since I get the kids on the bus.”
Vicki was so joyful that she was in hysterics by the end of her makeover.
“I don’t know what was cuter, her laugh or her haircut! She looks beautiful. Beautiful eyes too,” one YouTuber commented.
