If you thought hair problems were the only thing a can of hairspray can fix – well think again.

Unruly hair is not the only problem a can of hairspray can fix. It ranges from keeping things shiny to cleaning some notorious stains that takes forever to remove.

Here’s a list of what you can also do with the use of a can hairspray.

1.) Make Metals Shiny

Need to polish your silver or metal décor? First, spray some hairspray on it. Then, use a cloth to rub it in. It will also help prevent fingerprints. So amazing!

2.) Preserve Patent Leather Shine

Patent leather shoes can get scuffed and dull after a while. Polish them up and then spray them with hairspray. The hairspray will keep the shoes polished for much longer.

3.) Glitter Glue

When doing arts and crafts, glitter can be a tough thing to work with. Trying to glue glitter onto items can be a bit of a mess. Instead of glue, use hairspray. Just coat the item in a few sprays then sprinkle on the glitter.

4.) Clean Ink and Markers Off Walls

If you have little ones running around the house, you’re bound to end up with markers or ink on your walls at some point. Spray the ink with some hairspray and gently scrub off. Permanent marker will require rubbing alcohol, though.

Did you accidentally spill some nail polish? Don’t scratch and pick at it. Just spray some hairspray on the spill, and you can wipe it up easily.

7.) Prevent Skirts and Dresses from Riding Up

If you’re wearing a short skirt or dress, they can often ‘ride up’ when you walk around. Keep your dress or skirt in place by putting a thin layer of hairspray on your legs, especially the top of your thighs. Gymnasts use this trick to keep their leotards in shape.

8.) Hold Fake Snow On A Christmas Tree

Love the look of fake snow on your Christmas tree but hate the mess? Keep it in place by spraying it with hairspray. It stays on the tree instead of your floor.

9.) Protect Long Drapes from Dirt

Long, flowing curtains are beautiful but they’re a dirt magnet. Prevent dirt and dust from collecting on your drapes, be sure to coat your drapes or curtains with a few coats of hairspray. The dust and dirt won’t penetrate the polymer, leaving your drapes nice and stain-free.
