Here are some great ways to really make your stainless steel appliances shine.
Use a Microfiber Cloth
The biggest step you can take to keep your stainless appliances clean is to invest in some microfiber cloths. The non-abrasive nature of microfiber material is great for cleaning and polishing stainless, and when they get dirty are easily washed for reuse the next time.
Use Dish Soap and Mineral Oil
For an easy way to clean your stainless steel appliance start by cleaning the surface using a clean cloth dampened with water and a small amount of dish soap, wiping along the grain as you clean. Next, allow the surface to air dry. Finally, follow up by polishing the surface use a little mineral oil and a clean rag, following the grain as you do.
Use Pledge
You can also use pledge to clean your stainless steel surfaces. Either spray the Pledge directly onto the surface or apply it with a clean cloth, making sure to use a good amount. Allow the Pledge to soak into the surface before wiping it up using a clean cloth, wiping in a circular motion until removed.
Use Lemon Oil
Using lemon oil furniture polish is another great way to clean your stainless appliances. Start by applying a little bit of lemon oil to a clean cloth and applying it to the surface. After you have applied the lemon oil across the whole surface, wipe up using a clean microfiber cloth.
Use Baby Oil
A substance that works wonders when cleaning up fingerprints on stainless steel surfaces is baby oil. First, wipe down the surface using a damp cloth. Second, apply a little baby oil to a clean cloth and wipe it into the surface. Next, buff the surface using a dry section of the clean cloth.
Use Flour
Flour is great for cleaning a stainless sink, just make sure the sink is dry first. Start by sprinkling a thin layer of flour across the surface of your sink. Next, buff the surface of the sink with a paper towel. You should notice your sink taking on a shine. After shining the whole sink, clean up the excess flour.
Use Water
You can also clean your stainless surfaces using nothing more than water and a clean, lint-free cloth. Start by wiping down the surface with a cloth wet in water. Dry as soon as possible to prevent the formation of water spots. When washing and drying try to follow the direction of the polish lines.
Use WD-40
Using WD-40, believe it or not, is another great way to clean your stainless appliances. Simply spray a little bit directly onto the surface of your appliances and wipe up with a paper towel. Keep cleaning in this way, working in small sections, until your stainless appliance is clean and shiny.
Use Bon Ami
If you have some Bon Ami cleaning powder, you can use it to clean your stainless surfaces.Start by dampening the surface of a small flour sack (the cloth kind) with water followed by some Bon Ami powder. Rub the Bon Ami into the surface of your stainless using circular motions, making sure to cover the whole surface of the appliance.
Next, dampen the flour sack in a dry area and wipe the surface clean. Using a dry section of the flour sack, dry the surface. As a final step, rub a piece of wax paper across the surface.
Use Old English Cleaner
While you would think a wood cleaning product like Old English would not work on stainless steel, it actually can do wonders for the surface of your stainless appliances. Start by applying a small amount using a microfiber cloth, rubbing it into the surface using small circular motions. In no time, your appliances surface should be nice and shiny.
Use Glass Cleaner
Common glass cleaner is an easy way to remove fingerprints from your stainless steel appliances. Simply spray the glass cleaner on to a clean microfiber cloth and apply evenly across the surface using a circular motion. Follow this up by rinsing the surface and drying with a clean cloth.
Use Olive Oil and White Vinegar
An easy way to clean up fingerprints and smudges is to use white vinegar and olive oil. Start by spraying the appliance surface down with white vinegar and wipe up. Finish by applying a little bit of olive oil with a clean cloth and rub into the stainless surface. Follow this by buffing the appliance with a clean cloth.
Use Club Soda
Another substance you can use to clean the surface of a stainless appliance is club soda. Spray the club soda onto the surface and wipe up using a clean cloth. When wiping, try to do so following the grain of the steel.
Use Baking Soda
A great way to clean stainless steel is to use baking soda. Simply sprinkle a thin layer across the stainless surface and wipe down using a damp sponge, scrubbing if needed.
