One Arizona mom of 2 boys, Kimberly, came up with this toilet siphon tip to keep her bathroom clean.

What you’ll need:

  • Vinegar (cleaning vinegar is stronger and works best)
  • A scrub brush
  • Duct tape (seriously)

You’ll also want to do this clean before everyone goes to bed for the night because you’ll want to let some things sit overnight.

  1. Turn off the water for your toilet
  2. Flush the toilet so your water tank empties
  3. Pour a gallon of water into the toilet bowl to fully flush all the water out
  4. Now deep clean. Scrub under the toilet rim and clean out the siphons, which are crucial to keeping your toilet clean.

  1. Cover each siphon with duct tape around the rim and make sure they’re secure.
  2. Pour vinegar into the toilet tank and flush the toilet! The vinegar will run into the siphons and the duct tape will keep the vinegar in there.
  3. Allow the vinegar sit in the rim and siphons overnight. Then remove the duct tape the next day, turn the water back on and flush the toilet a couple of times to get it back to normal.

2. Clean your toilet with WD-40

And if you don’t have WD-40 lying around or an auto parts store nearby, fear not. There is another way to get your toilet nice and shiny again.

This method involves baking soda, a common cooking ingredient.

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar into your toilet
  2. Follow it with 1 cup of baking soda
  3. Add 3-5 drops of lemon oil
  4. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes
  5. Dip your scrubbing brush into the water and scrub the toilet
  6. Flush

The results will speak for themselves.

Forget buying expensive bathtub cleaning store products. Your bathtub and your wallet will thank you with the home made solution below.

You will need:

  • Nail polish remover
  • A kitchen sponge

To clean your bathtub:

  1. Pour nail polish remover on the rough side of your sponge
  2. Scrub the dirty parts of your bathtub

How it works: The acetone acts as a dissolving agent. When the nail polish comes in contact with grime, the polish remover dissolves it. The dirt can then be wiped off with a paper towel.
